At this time, we mainly use natural HDPE along with a small amount of colored HDPE. We typically purchase sorted baled plastic by the truckload at the prevailing market price.

General Information

HDPE is High Density Polyethylene or #2 plastic. HDPE plastic can be either natural or colored. The natural bottles have good barrier & stiffness properties making it well suited for products with a short shelf life such as milk. The excellent chemical resistance makes colored HDPE great for packaging many household and industrial chemicals such as bleach or detergents.

Some examples of #2 plastic (look on the bottom of the package for this number) are milk, water, and juice jugs, bleach & fabric softener bottles, some dairy tubs, liquid detergent bottles and more.
